Karan Gupta is a skilled software engineer with over 4 years of relevant experience in engineering, software design, UX, and data engineering. Currently, he is working at UBS as a Software Engineer II (Authorized Officer) where he is building a brand new UI in ReactJS for a legacy application used for sourcing/contracting space. Prior to his current role, Karan worked on building data engineering pipelines on top of a data lake using Apache Spark. He also worked on legacy and greenfield Java/Spring-based applications. Alongside his BAU work, Karan helped set up CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, onboarded application to AppDynamics for monitoring, and set up a custom Docker image for running automation tests. He used to be into ML way back during his undergrad studies. Karan has a diverse set of skills in software engineering, Spring, Spark, CI/CD, Docker, UI, data engineering, ReactJS, ML, ETL, Java, backend, test, and Flask. Karan has worked with UBS as a Software Engineer where he implemented a new ReactJS UI for a legacy Spring MVC based application. He implemented a custom state management system to sync data between React components and server-side data transfer object. Karan also implemented many small Angular applications, Spark-based ETL jobs to transform data from operational DB in Logistics domain, and was the L3 lead for Spring MVC based application in Cost Allocation domain. He helped implement end-to-end CI/CD pipeline using GitLab for 4 projects, set up application monitoring using AppDynamics, and configured alerts for resource usage & errors. He also set up a custom Docker image to support running of automation tests during the CI pipeline. Karan has a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Delhi College of Engineering (DTU), where he graduated in 2019. He completed his CBSE 10+2 from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in 2015. Karan is a dedicated and passionate software engineer with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow in his field.
