Karan Magiya is a senior system software engineer at NVIDIA, with a passion for system engineering. With 4 years of industry experience, he has a strong background in designing power, performance, and chip/link boot up flows. He is proficient in firmware development, hardware architecture, and has some RTL design experience. Karan is also skilled in automotive software development, with knowledge about PLC process, AUTOSAR, ASPICE, MISRA, and ISO26262. Currently, Karan is working as a GPU Boot, Power, and Performance Firmware Developer at NVIDIA. In his previous role at NVIDIA, he was a Senior Hardware Microcode Developer, where he was responsible for designing power management and link initialization flows for NVLink IP. He was also responsible for firmware qualification for automotive safety standards and performing firmware unit, functional, and basic coverage testing. Karan suggested architectural feature changes in reset flows for NVLink IP and designed RTL supporting firmware features. He also performed traceability from requirements to architecture, testing, and unit design documents. Before joining NVIDIA, Karan worked as a Server CPU Boot, Power, and Performance Firmware Developer at Intel. Here, he designed chip power, performance, and boot-up flows and developed firmware for embedded microcontroller using Assembly and C++. Karan also developed tools to assist the build and validation flows and performed unit, functional, and basic coverage testing as the initial testing plan. He wrote firmware design and architecture documentations. Karan holds a Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Sardar Patel Institute of Technology. In addition to his technical skills, Karan is a software engineer and test specialist. He has a total of 6.78 years of relevant experience in the industry.
