Karan Sheth is a Director of Engineering at Nutanix, with over 14 years of experience in the technology industry. He is passionate about solving complex problems with code and creating beautiful, usable products. Karan has a strong background in frontend development, UI design, and server-side development. Before joining Nutanix, Karan worked at calm.io as a Technical Lead, where he built and mentored the UI engineering team. He was responsible for setting standards for the codebase and developing long-term frameworks. Karan also played a significant role in the UX design and developed a map-like graph-based editor/dashboard for orchestration of server infrastructure in React and Flux. He also developed an in-house implementation of Facebook's Flux framework spec, which ran in production for the life of the product. Additionally, he worked on backend efforts for API development and product model design. Prior to calm.io, Karan was a Senior Software Engineer at Zopnow, where he led the frontend development team and helped with server-side development when needed. His primary focus was refactoring and deploying the previous all-in-one traditional interface to a decoupled REST API-based single-page application with push support to improve performance and maintainability. Karan also delved into PhoneGap for Android and prototyped responsive design concepts. Karan earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Technology from Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology in 2008. He has a strong technical skill set, including frontend development, UI design, senior software engineering, infrastructure, and Android development.
