Karan Verma is a highly skilled Frontend Engineer with over 7 years of experience in building self-service data tools, creating exploratory data visualizations, and contributing to open-source projects. He is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Uber, where he builds tools to consolidate information and provide actionable insights. Karan has worked in various business domains, including sales, risk and safety, and customer support. Prior to joining Uber, he helped build Gojek and Zoomcar. At Uber, he has mentored an intern to build a graph viz dashboard for Uber Eats order data and collaborated with multiple teams across timezones. He has also built a graph visualization library from scratch, which is being used in two internal dashboards. Karan is currently single-handedly building Uber knowledge graph visualization tool uGraph, which helps the Risk and Safety team investigate frauds. He has also contributed to the design engineering team by helping them build a Figma plugin and represented his team in Uber-wide talks. Karan holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Hindustan University, Chennai, and has attended Krishna Public School Bhilai.
