Karthi Subbaraman is a Design Leadership professional at Microsoft with over 20 years of experience in various sectors such as pharma, e-commerce, technology, education, banking, finance, and insurance. She is passionate about business transformation using design thinking and doing. As an educator, she helps makers grasp the fundamentals of product design and business design, while as a practitioner, she consults and advises product teams to make better digital products. Karthi is also a coach who helps designers and product managers to make better digital products. As a community builder, she builds a tribe of makers and enables them to learn and grow. Karthi is a hands-on designer and product maker who learns every day about new tools, changing trends, moving patterns, and shifting behaviors of human beings. She believes that Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is directly proportional to the growth of technology. Karthi heavily uses data in all forms to persuade, dissuade, negotiate, and influence with all stakeholders. She collaborates with the C-suite to growth hack the business using strategic design. Karthi is the co-lead of Women In Products, India, where she is building a product tribe pixel by pixel. Her mission is to build a community and professional network of highly-engaged women Product Managers, to facilitate the personal growth and development of members and to provide a scalable framework to build communities locally. Karthi is the founder and core member of Silva.Camp, a Maker's Ecosystem that brings together designers, no-coders, and product makers to build digital products, services, courses, and tools that make the world a better place to live. She is responsible for onboarding and helping Brand Owners with governance, processes, coaching, and sharing learnings that will help them thrive as better owners. Karthi holds a Master of Science degree in Human Factors Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, a Master of Business Administration in Product Innovation, Product Management, and Leadership from the Institute of Product Leadership, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communication from Coimbatore Institute of Technology. Her relevant experience in the industry is 16.79 years, and her tech stack includes designer, product manager, DAO, product designer, and UI.
