Karthik Joshi S is an experienced Software Engineer with over 5 years of experience in the field. He is currently working as a Software Engineer at StockX, a leading eCommerce marketplace, where he is part of the payments services team responsible for complete money related services at StockX. Karthik is skilled in Distributed systems, microservices, Java, NodeJS, Postgres, and the Fintech domain. Karthik has also worked with an early-stage Fintech startup, where he joined as the third employee to the tech team. Here, he got an opportunity to build the Fintech application services from scratch end-to-end and to work on the complete software development life cycle. In addition to his skills in coding, Karthik is passionate about problem-solving, system design, and architecture. He has enjoyed his experience working with early-stage startups, which helped him in cultivating the ownership mindset. At StockX, Karthik has gained a decent understanding of how payments domain work in general. He has also worked on the distributed systems-based architecture, asynchronous workflows, and de-composing monolith architecture to microservices from scratch. Karthik has solved some of the critical production issues, which helped in reducing the payments vaulting failure rates by ~10-15% and thereby providing a better customer experience. He has also worked on RFC design documents, building data observability dashboards, monitors to derive better insights into the data. Karthik has worked with several companies in the past, including WeRize, a Fintech startup, and High Peak Software, an early-stage services startup. At WeRize, Karthik implemented an end-to-end CREDIT UNDER-WRITING service, designed a generic RULE ENGINE library, and created common libraries to promote code re-usability across microservices. At High Peak Software, Karthik worked on building RESTful APIs from scratch for manufacturing and law firm suite domains, designed and developed backend services involving Java, Spring boot, MySQL, OOPS, design patterns, and deployments in the cloud. Karthik holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the NIE Institute of Technology, Mysore.
