Karthik Jayanthi is a highly experienced technology professional with over 12 years of experience in building and delivering high-scale systems. He is passionate about learning and building large-scale systems that solve impactful problems using technology. Currently, he is serving as the Vice President at Delhivery, where he owns all transportation systems from Order Management to First Mile services, Midmile services, Last Mile services, and billing services. Karthik has successfully led a team of 250 people, including Sr Directors, Directors, Sr Managers, Managers, Team Leads, Technical Program Managers, Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and QA Engineers across locations. He has set up the technical charter of the systems and delivered them to match the growth of the business, handling about 3.5 Million shipments a day for peak 2021. He has also changed the working culture of the Infra team, reducing infrastructure costs by 20%. In his previous roles at Delhivery, Karthik has set up teams of high-class engineers from scratch across backend engineering, frontend engineering, android development, Dev Ops, support, Engineering Managers, and TPMs with varying levels of experience. He has designed, built, and successfully launched high-quality and high-scale line haul and sort center systems, trips management service, dock management service, sorter integrations, sorting service, fleet management service, space management service, inventory management service, movement tracking service, and an end-to-end hyper-local delivery system of Delhivery. Karthik has mentored and grown engineers, managers, and team leads to senior positions. He has also driven hiring across teams in tough market conditions and ensured teams were staffed adequately. Karthik has a dual degree (B.Tech and M.Tech) in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. His technical expertise includes infra, QA, DevOps, Frontend, Backend, Android, and Senior Software Engineer.
