Karthik K is a seasoned technology professional with over 18 years of experience in software development, test automation, release management, and technical pitches to customers. He is currently serving as a Senior Director of Engineering (Platforms) at commerceiq, where he manages the data harvesting platform, data warehousing, and computation platform for different eCommerce vendors in Amazon and Walmart. He also oversees the cloud infrastructure, security, and costs (AWS) that power commerceiq solutions. Prior to his current role, Karthik worked as a Senior Engineering Manager (Platform) at Qubole, where he managed the platform/infrastructure team responsible for developing and sustaining Qubole's command processing platform. He also led the developer productivity team and implemented several innovative ideas that helped in faster deploys. Karthik saved several hundred thousand dollars in cloud operations cost for Qubole across Azure and AWS. He also donned multiple hats at Qubole, including DevOps, solutions/sales, and quality assurance. Before joining Qubole, Karthik worked as a Software Development Engineer 2 at Microsoft, where he was part of teams responsible for products that enabled SMBs to create and serve banner ads, text ads from their listing in BingPlaces. He developed a lookup service to detect malware URLs in online ads, which won a special prize award in Bangalore hackathon. Karthik holds a CORe - Credential of Readiness from Harvard Business School Online. He has expertise in AWS, Azure, Terraform, Snowflake, Big Data, Python, GCP, Spark, Apache Airflow, Kubernetes, UI, and software engineering.
