Karthik Murugan is a seasoned Technical Architect with over 18 years of experience in building distributed Enterprise products. He is currently working as a Technical Architect for two IoT products: an on-premise IoT platform and a SaaS IoT enabler. Karthik has architected and built the IoT SaaS product from scratch, and has hands-on experience in Redis cluster, Kafka, Zookeeper, Postgres, LVS Load balancer, Serverless, and Containers. Karthik is proficient in Java, Spring, Node JS, Docker, AWS, and related frameworks and technologies. He has strong expertise in OMA LwM2M and oneM2M standards and has hands-on experience working with constrained device technologies like Non-IP Data Delivery (NIDD), eDRX, LwM2M to improve battery life of IoT devices and their network footprint. Currently working as a Technical Architect for Hewlett Packard, Karthik has architected and built a cloud-native IoT SaaS product with a team of 7 Software Engineers. He has engaged with AWS for architecture review and SME reviews, security officer’s review, and threat analysis. Karthik has incorporated Encryption at Rest and techniques to reduce attack surface. He has also created a SaaS framework for logging, traceability, consumption metrics. Karthik has automated the CI-CD pipeline with stages like Build, Deploy, Tests, Coverage report, and Quality scans. Karthik has worked with Hewlett Packard in the past as a Technical Architect, Tech Lead & Solutions Lead. As a Technical Architect, he led high-performing Agile teams to deliver 4 product releases over 2 years. He also designed the core platform to handle 5M LwM2M devices, 5500 TPS of mixed traffic from devices & applications. Karthik has designed complex performance campaigns by projecting customer’s traffic pattern. He has also developed a framework, tools for performance campaigns, and automation tests. Karthik has a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Anna University and an MS in Software Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. His tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, AWS, Kubernetes, NodeJS, Docker, Redis, Kafka, Spring, NoSQL, Postgres, and Java. Karthik has relevant experience of 18.12 years.
