Karthikeyan Janakiraman is an experienced product leader currently serving as the Chief Product Officer at OpenFabric. With over 17 years of relevant experience, he has a demonstrated track record of envisioning, building, and launching new innovative consumer and merchant payment products and experiences. Karthikeyan is highly adept and experienced in building payment processing backend systems, merchant acquiring solutions, payment gateways, recurring payments, marketplaces payment solutions, and consumer payment experiences such as mobile apps, XO, and consumer servicing. He has led a 4-member product team as the lead Product Owner for Consumer Financial Services where their goal was to provide bank-like services for the financially underserved. At OpenFabric, Karthikeyan is leading the product team as the Head of Product. He has defined and built the initial MVP that enabled customers to directly receive their paychecks into their PayPal account, save towards Goals and invest with Acorns, and set them up with a physical debit card that can be used at over 40k+ ATMs across the US. He has successfully launched an employee pilot with over ~10k employees testing and using their solution across 10+ PayPal locations in the US, which was compliant with regulations of all 50 US state regulations. He has also built and launched NFC payment capability for Employee pilot on PayPal Global Android Application. In the past, Karthikeyan has worked with Embark as the Chief Noodler, managing a 3-member regional product team responsible for the roadmap that covers end-to-end localization, compliance, and optimizations for all their consumer and merchant products in SEA and HKT markets. He was also a Co-Founder of organicsquare.in and worked as a Product Manager for the Global Merchant Services product team looking after Payflow Payment Gateway. Karthikeyan holds a BE in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University and completed his High School from JGVV. His tech stack includes test, Android, Backend, and Mobile.
