Karthikeyan Velayudhan is a highly experienced Firmware Engineer with around 9 years of design and development experience on embedded firmware layer. He has a proven track record of taking commercial projects from concept through production and customer support. Currently working as a Principal Engineer at Microchip Technology Inc., he specializes in SSD (Solid Storage Drive) Firmware Design & Development, TLC NAND, MLC NAND, SLC NAND, Device Driver, ASIC & FPGA Validation, RAID Algorithm and IO Controller Firmware, FTL Development, SATA, NVMeOF, NVMe, Linux Kernel device drivers, MDIO, ARM, ASIC, Debugging, Algorithms, C Programming, Signal Analyzer Tool, RESTful services, swordfish, and redfish. Karthikeyan has worked with Eximius Design as a Senior System Analyst and System Analyst. At Eximius Design, he was responsible for designing and developing NVMeoF firmware and Test Chip Firmware. He has experience in hardware validation, hardware design and validation for various features, and brief understanding of NVME protocol and NVME commands handling. He has developed the mechanism of work queue for handling requests from hardware and from software, mechanism of Interrupt handling and mutual sharing of hardware through mutex/semaphore, and the mechanism of establishing connection between Host FPGA to Target FPGA through RDMA connect method and sending admin and IO commands that host requested to the NVMe SSD. He has also developed the mechanism of sharing NVMe drives across various hosts through fabrics, the mechanism which handles hotplug features in servers and getting notified to hosts, and the configuration mechanism in software for faster and shared access of NVMe drives. Karthikeyan has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Coimbatore Institute of Technology. He also completed his 12th standard from ARLM Matric Hr. Sec. School. His relevant experience in the field is 10.86 years. He has expertise in tools like ASIC, MDIO, ARM, FIO benchmark, UserSpace REST, and Python. Karthikeyan has recently taken H1B and has visited the USA for work purposes.
