Karuna Ahuja is an experienced Machine Learning Scientist with over 13 years of experience in the field. She has a demonstrated history of finding signal in noisy data and is interested in leveraging start-of-the-art ML techniques on multimodal data to build real-world applications. Currently, she is working as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Uber. Prior to this, Karuna has worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Uber, where she was responsible for driver pricing and incentives, and as a Computer Scientist II at SRI International, where she actively drove a range of NDA-protected projects involving multimodal distance metric learning and temporal machine learning. Karuna holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and a Master of Science in Engineering in CIS (Embedded Systems) from the University of Pennsylvania. Her technical expertise includes ML, research scientist, and computer vision. With her in-depth knowledge of Machine Learning and strong analytical skills, Karuna has successfully developed ML algorithms for anomaly detection, classification, and regression tasks in the field of biometrics, assistive healthcare, and physiological sensing. She has also developed a novel co-attention based deep framework to effectively align multimodal representations.
