Kat Howell is a passionate advocate for equity, equality, and justice for all, with no caveats. As a neurodivergent individual, she is committed to promoting financially accessible art therapy as a means of improving mental health and well-being. Kat is also an accomplished author and believes in intentionally loving strangers. With over 9 years of relevant experience, Kat has developed a diverse skill set that includes writing, editing, social networking, and customer support. She is proficient in Microsoft Office and has a talent for conducting research. Currently, Kat is self-employed and works as a housing advocate. In this role, she is dedicated to helping individuals and families find safe and affordable housing. In the past, Kat has worked as a project manager assistant at Hurricane Fence Company Inc. and as a community event planner as a volunteer. As a community event planner, Kat was responsible for planning and executing multiple events aimed at bringing the community together. She acted as a liaison between organizations and the public and advocated for families and children in need of emergency financial assistance. Additionally, Kat provided assistance to help clients cope with their everyday problems and sometimes mental and emotional issues. She also informed citizens about environmental, animal, and human conditions in an effort to motivate them into action. Kat holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Leadership and Social Change, Public and Urban Affairs from Virginia Tech, which she completed in 2009. She is a research scientist and has a keen interest in using research to bring about positive change in society. Overall, Kat is a dedicated and compassionate individual who is committed to making a difference in the world.
