Kathryn Patterson is an experienced Front End Web Developer with over 17 years of industry experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and English from Vanderbilt University. After working in the industry for 7 years, Kathryn took a break to raise her children. During this time, she kept up with the technical changes, taught herself Python, ran a social media consulting business, wrote a novel and a book of poetry, and volunteered at her kids’ schools. Now that her youngest child is in high school, Kathryn is returning to the workforce. To further her knowledge and skills, Kathryn applied for the Grow with Google scholarship at Udacity in November 2017 and was accepted into the challenge course and eventually the program. She spent last year learning HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React, Redux, AngularJS, Ember, and tools like npm. Kathryn's technical skills include Web, Frontend, Javascript, Redux, Python, and AngularJS. Kathryn has worked as a freelance web developer and previously owned her own company, We Grok LLC. She also received a scholarship from Grow with Google and Udacity to study front-end web development. Kathryn's education history includes a Nanodegree in Front-End Web Development from Udacity, a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and English from Vanderbilt University, and a year of study in English at Leeds Metropolitan University. Kathryn is a highly motivated and skilled Front End Web Developer with a passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies.
