Katie Gu is a highly skilled software engineer with a passion for full stack development, machine learning, and data science. With over 3 years of relevant experience, she currently works at Amazon as a Software Engineer. In her previous role at UC Berkeley Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences, Katie served as a Discrete Math and Probability Theory (CS 70) Reader, where she worked with a team of other readers to grade weekly homework assignments and taught students concepts in discrete math and probability theory during office hours. She also served as a Machine Learning (CS 189) Reader, where she worked in a team to grade student homework and projects, taught students key concepts during office hours, and reviewed and created practice material for the course. Katie is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). During her time at UC Berkeley, she developed a priority scheduler and filesystem for an operating system. In addition to her professional work, Katie also enjoys mentoring students in computer science and mathematics. As a part of UC Berkeley Computer Science Mentors, she taught discrete math and probability to a small group of students. Katie's technical skills include software engineering, machine learning, and data science. She is a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for learning.
