Kaustubh Sinha is a Research Engineer/Physicist at Sunnybrook with a demonstrated expertise in Solid State electronics, Electromagnetics, and Photonics. His primary career goal is to master the manipulation of light and be at the forefront of communication, bio, energy, and space technologies. Kaustubh has over 2 years of hands-on lab R&D experience at the Wang Optoelectronics Research Group, where he worked on projects such as Laser Induced Graphene on Lignin upgraded flexible Polymer films, TIA for QD Photodiode, Micro-drop UV/Vis Spectrometer, and invented the Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscope for Retinopathy (BIOR) device. He has also proven his leadership skills with over 2 years of quantitatively successful leadership experience. Kaustubh's skills include Photonics, Networks, Languages, Software, Equipment, and Environments. He is proficient in C++, Python, and MATLAB (Windows/Linux) and has experience with LTSpice, Mentor graphics, Cadence, Solid Works, and Altium Designer. He has worked with Raman and FTIR Spectrometers, Spectrophotometers, Vibrometers, Lasers (Class 3B), Optical Bench, Photodiodes, Oscilloscopes, and Sourcemeters. He has also worked in a Vacuum Chamber, Glove Box, Fume hood, and Class 10,000 Cleanroom. In addition to his technical skills, Kaustubh possesses strong soft skills. He is an empathetic communicator and a respected leader who has successfully negotiated deals and managed professional conflicts. Currently, Kaustubh is characterizing and optimizing band response for focused ultrasound Transducers, Hydrophones, and arrays to be used for clinical trials at Sunnybrook. He is also creating MATLAB and Python automation scripts for processing large datasets from device testing and drafting SOPs to manage complex equipment and experimental flow. Kaustubh has previously worked as a Technical Intern - Fiber Products at GAOtek and a Program Developer for the Bridge2Engineering Program at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Alberta. He has a Master of Science degree in Photonics & Optoelectronics from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from PES.
