Kaustubh Walokar is a seasoned Software Engineer with over 9 years of experience in the industry. Currently working as a Software Development Engineer II at Amazon, he is a key contributor to the Amazon Sidewalk cloud services, which aims to connect millions of IoT devices over Echo and Ring devices. Kaustubh has a strong background in distributed systems and cloud technologies, and has worked extensively with Java, Typescript, Scala, C++, golang, Angular, AWS, Spring, NodeJs, Angular 2+, Android, RESTful APIs, MySQL, and MongoDb. He is also proficient in using tools like Heroku, GCP, Docker, protobuffers, GRPC, OAuth2, Kafka, Apache Giraph, Hadoop, SAML, Okta, Apache Graphx, and JUNIT. Prior to joining Amazon, Kaustubh has worked with Veritas as a Software Engineer, where he implemented the first version of Kubernetes Cluster Backup and Recovery workflow. He also worked on NetBackup RESTful services to serve enterprise backup and recovery needs. Before that, he worked with PwC as a Technology Consultant, where he proposed and worked on securing cloud data used in enterprise systems, using SAML and Active Directory based authentication in implemented systems. Kaustubh holds a Master's Degree in Enterprise Distributed Systems from San Jose State University, a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University, and has also completed independent coursework in Introduction to Algorithms from Massachusetts Institute of Technology - OpenCourseWare, and Architecting Distributed Cloud Applications from edx - Open Courseware. In addition to his strong technical skills and experience, Kaustubh is a team player, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
