Kautuk Desai is a Full Stack Software Engineer at FactSet, with a strong background in information technology and financial services. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science focused on Artificial Intelligence from the University at Buffalo - SUNY. Kautuk has over three years of experience in full-stack application development, working with various JavaScript frameworks such as React.js, Angular 2, and Knockout, along with server-side languages like Python and Node.js to build REST APIs and microservices. He has also worked extensively on MongoDB, MS SQL, Redis, AWS (EC2, S3, DynamoDB), Docker containers, and Docker Swarm. Kautuk has built various academic and personal projects as a full-stack web developer, including a chrome extension using chrome APIs, implementing sentiment analysis using Natural Language Toolkit (NLTK) platform, and a blockchain-based solution for M&T Bank that was awarded the 2nd prize in TopCoder blockchain buildathon. He is also working with a professor at the university to Dockerize project assignments, which will reduce the amount of storage required for VMs on a student's laptops. Kautuk is studying Kubernetes, Cloud Orchestration using containers, and has a desire to be involved with the innovative aspect of technology and mentor new recruits. Kautuk's past companies include Hive, where he worked as a Software Development Engineer Intern, and Indus Valley Partners, where he worked as a Software Engineer. At Hive, Kautuk integrated Github webhook, created robust React components, resolved bugs, implemented hotfixes, boosted code coverage, and worked closely with designers during brainstorming, design reviews, and iteration of UI improvement. At Indus Valley Partners, Kautuk assisted in developing a module that could extract relevant information from Account statements and mentored the new recruit on the team. Kautuk has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics Engineering from K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering and has completed his HSC from K.C College and SSC from S.T Xavier's High School. His interests include data analysis, data warehouses, web development, cloud computing, AI, and machine learning. Kautuk is currently looking for full-time opportunities starting February 2019 and has relevant experience of 6.03 years.
