Kavin Karthik is a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer and Senior Engineering Manager at Google with over 8 years of relevant experience. He is an engineering lead for various user-facing products at Google and currently leads Home service bookings, helping users transact with online services offered by SMBs. Kavin is passionate about creating products that users might not even know they need but love when they use them. He is a Zero to One enthusiast and loves to innovate. At Google, Kavin has led the expansion of Reserve with Google (RwG) product to facilitate real-time transactions between Google users and home service providers. He is also the backend lead for Reserve with Google (RwG) online services booking offering, facilitating SMBs to transition their service offerings to be purely virtual, helps users discover these online services, and transact with them. Kavin has worked as a Tech Lead for several platform features, notably text-related, at Google. He led the product transition from a pure object recognition product to a "Text" first interaction product by launching features like real-world copy-paste, translation, etc. Some of these features were widely covered in media and showcased at Google IO. Kavin has also worked on a critical infrastructure that joins petabytes of data from hundreds of sources in near-real-time to detect spammy clicks on Google Ads.
