Kavish Somani is a seasoned Product Manager with over 11 years of experience in the industry. Currently working at Flipkart as a Product Manager for Insuretech (Payments), Kavish is responsible for improving revenue and customer margins from insurance products. He is also involved in experimentation to enhance attach rates of insurance products. Kavish has previously worked as a Product Manager for Data Platform at Flipkart, where he was responsible for data storage optimization. He worked on creating an automatic movement of data among various tiers based on serving business use cases and optimizing the cost of storage. His efforts resulted in a savings of $5 million every year at Flipkart scale. Kavish also managed the entire big billion data platform ownership and numerous number of sale events across the year. He scaled and ensured that the data platform auto-scaled for up to 7x the data traffic during spike sales such as BBD. Additionally, he built a billing product that helped visualize all the data of an organization with different data cuts and generated invoices to leadership for cost efficiency. Prior to Flipkart, Kavish worked as a Product Manager at Sixt R&D. He has also completed his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
