Kedar J. is a Physics enthusiast with a strong background in mechanical engineering and computer science. He is currently a Member of Technical Staff at Plus, where he is working on bringing self-driving trucks to the market. Kedar's expertise lies in runtime ML infrastructure, software integration for onboard sensors, and system-level integration for powertrain, actuators, and safety systems. Before joining Plus, Kedar worked as a Robotics Software Engineer and Mechanical Engineer at Applied Materials. In his role as a Robotics Software Engineer, he designed real-time control algorithms for high-rate, fast motion systems, developed dynamic models of multi-axis robotic systems, and created trajectory generation and tracking algorithms for robots. As a Mechanical Engineer, Kedar was responsible for mechanical design and packaging of components to meet product and system level requirements while optimizing for product attributes. He also worked with overseas suppliers and local design houses for product development and gained experience with field issues, manufacturing improvements, and sensor qualification setups. Kedar holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Computer Science with a specialization in robotics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He also holds a bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Kedar's technical skills include software engineering, integration, ML, infra, and test.
