Kedar Sovani is an accomplished Senior Director of Engineering with over 22 years of experience in IoT, Matter, and startups. He has a passion for working from product concept to production, with a focus on innovation. Kedar has led software engineering from scratch to a multi-million dollar business and has experience in building enthusiastic teams from scratch. Millions of IoT devices running large pieces of his code/architecture are deployed throughout the world, and he has successfully delivered multiple products with high profile customers, high quality, and first-to-market. Kedar's strong technical aptitude/hands-on coupled with people management skills make him an asset to any team. His technology strongholds include Systems Software, Embedded Systems, Linux Kernel, and Filesystems. Currently, Kedar is the Sr. Director of Engineering, IoT Ecosystems at Espressif Systems, where he started the India development center with a specific focus on Application Frameworks. He assembled a team where all of them are proud to work alongside each other and of the products they deliver. Kedar defines and leads the software engineering for Application Frameworks at Espressif, that accelerate customers to go from concept to production. He focuses on US/EU customers and their success. In a short span of 2 years, Kedar's team at Espressif kickstarted and successfully delivered Matter, ESP RainMaker, ESP Insights ESP-Jumpstart, ESP HomeKit, Amazon:FreeRTOS, ESP Alexa SDK (Industry's first), ESP GVA SDK (Industry's first), Pre-provisioned modules software, NimBLE integration, among others. A number of others are in-flight, to be launched soon. Kedar identifies, experiments, and bets on new initiatives that could potentially contribute to greater customer success. Before joining Espressif, Kedar was a Staff Engineering Manager and Sr. Engineering Manager at Marvell Semiconductor. His team built Marvell's HomeKit SDK, the industry's first HomeKit SDK. His team was also responsible for building Marvell's EZ-Connect Software Platform for IoT from scratch. The work of this team is currently powering millions of IoT devices deployed throughout the world. Kedar worked with multiple Tier-I customers to make their products successful, with keywords like Embedded, RTOS, WiFi, Device Cloud, WebApps, Architecture, Execution, Delivery. Kedar holds a Master of Science (MS) from BITS Pilani. His tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer and Integration.
