Keiichiro Ono is a highly skilled and experienced software engineer with a specialization in data visualization and bioinformatics. He is currently working as a Bioinformatics Software Engineer at UC San Diego Bioengineering/Dept of Medicine, where he designs and implements software systems for bioinformatics research. He is also the co-organizer of Data Visualization Japan. Keiichiro's technical interests lie in web-based data visualization for scientists/biologists, component-based design and implementation of data visualization systems, and reproducible scientific workflows with microservices running in containers (Docker) and commercial cloud services (AWS/Google Cloud). He is proficient in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, and Go. Keiichiro has worked with several companies in the past, including National Resource for Network Biology as a Staff Engineer and Google Summer of Code as a Mentor. He has also contributed to the development of Cytoscape, a project he considers his main project. Keiichiro has a Master's degree in Computational Molecular Biology/Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine.
