Keisuke Umezawa is a seasoned machine learning engineering manager with over 9 years of relevant experience. He has a diverse range of experiences in ad matching, recommendations, financial market forecasts, customer attribute prediction, chatbots, user and content moderations, among others. Keisuke has a proven track record of managing projects and leading teams for ML, as well as hands-on experience in ML modeling, backend system design, and development. Currently, Keisuke works as the Head of Engineering for the Customer Service Platform division at Mercari, where he is responsible for organization management, team forming, budget planning, and strategy management. He also contributes to the management of strategy and organization for the customer support platform division to maximize the outcome and be accountable for the company. Prior to his current role, Keisuke worked as an Engineering Manager for Machine Learning at Mercari, where he was responsible for providing personalized components on the home screen, automatic response to customer contacts by ML, template suggestion to reply in the contact tool, content moderation with item and user behavior information, and platform for predicting customer attributes. He also worked as a committer of Optuna at Preferred Networks, Inc. Keisuke holds a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Informatics from the University of Tokyo.
