Kelly Vaughn is a Software Engineering Leader with over 15 years of experience in software engineering and a people manager with a passion for mentoring, coaching, and leading teams. She holds a BS in Psychology and two master's degrees in Social Work and Public Health, all from the University of Georgia. Kelly's unique educational and professional background allows her to bring a more human element to a traditionally static field. Kelly started her career as an entrepreneur and for eight years started and scaled two businesses before transitioning into a more traditional engineering leadership role. Currently, she is the Engineering Manager for the AI/Workflows Team at Spot AI, where she leads a global team of engineers building the AI functionality and dashboard features that customers use every day. Kelly is also passionate about teaching engineers at any stage to stay curious and mentor others, as well as helping aspiring and early-stage managers set themselves up for success as an engineering leader. She loves public speaking and has delivered talks on these topics. When she's not working, Kelly is an avid reader and enjoys trying out new restaurants, sampling the city's cortados at local coffee shops, and traveling the world with her husband. She also continues to dabble in software engineering projects to stay up to date with new technologies. Kelly is launching her Masterschool in Web Development, where she will invest in 35 highly-talented students and train them for an inspiring tech career. The selected students will participate in an intensive online program for seven months, paying no upfront tuition. After finding a high-paying tech job, they will repay the tuition with small monthly installments. If they don't find a tech job, they don't pay. Kelly's tech stack includes AI, Web, Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, and UI. Her relevant experience is 9.53 years.
