Kenneth Ford is a highly skilled Software Engineer with over 7 years of relevant experience in the industry. Currently working at Google as a Software Engineer on Android, Kenneth is responsible for developing and testing new device form factors and features prior to release. He also works with top partners to provide technical guidance around optimizing their Android application for Foldable devices, Chrome OS, and Android tablets. Prior to his current role, Kenneth worked as a Developer Advocate at Google where he was responsible for giving input on API surface and writing samples showcasing the usage of their new Jetpack Window Manager library. He also created custom Android builds to allow them to test new device form factors and features prior to release. Kenneth developed a sample to demonstrate strategies for Google Drive backup and showcased seamless solutions to getting around Chrome OS’ profile limitations which is critical for their EDU and enterprise story. He worked with Samsung leading up to the launch of the Galaxy Fold to customize their OS for a better user experience and a more stable application platform. Kenneth also served as the expert for Foldable app compatibility issues and worked with partners to develop solutions for their use cases. Before joining Google, Kenneth worked at Capital One as a Software Engineer where he created a feature in the Capital One Android application to handle travel notification submission. He also built a new iOS feature to allow customers to order delivery services through the Capital One Mobile App in certain delivery areas. Kenneth used Vue JS to build an SPA portal to serve as the main servicing platform for Capital One’s new research projects and the agents participating. He also developed a new API using Spring Boot, Java, and Kotlin to help bring features to a new platform. Kenneth holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
