Kenny Kon is a technology leader with over 20 years of experience in a scalable, reliable, and high transaction environment. He specializes in transforming and modernizing legacy mainframe services to newer technology running in managed data centers and the cloud. He is also focused on transforming IT Operations to adopt concepts associated with Site Reliability Engineering. Kenny has a good understanding of the business environment he works in, as well as the technologies used. His skill set includes global team management, public cloud adoption, CI/CD, IaaS/PaaS, data center to cloud migrations, mainframe modernization, IT Service Management, Oracle database technology, PCI DSS, GDPR, and disaster recovery. Currently, Kenny is the Director of Reliability Engineering at Lowe's Companies, Inc. where he leads the SRE effort for a cloud-native product spanning the travel disciplines of offer, order, and departure control. He works in Google Cloud Platform and focuses on automation and observability. Prior to this, he managed a team that provided production application support and handled non-production support, including cloud migrations, data center migrations, mainframe modernization, and continuous integration/continuous delivery. His team provided support in a managed data center, in AWS, and in an Openshift PaaS environment. Kenny also works directly with customers during incidents and problem management. Previously, Kenny was the Director of Site Reliability Engineering at Sabre, where he led the SRE effort for a cloud-native product spanning the travel disciplines of offer, order, and departure control. He also managed a team that provided production application support and handled non-production support, including cloud migrations, data center migrations, mainframe modernization, and continuous integration/continuous delivery. Kenny's education includes a Bachelor of Science from Abilene Christian University, a Bachelor of Science from Harding University, and an MBA from The University of Texas at Arlington - College of Business. His technical skills include SRE, AWS, CI/CD, and integration. With almost 30 years of relevant experience, Kenny is a technical leader focused on site reliability.
