Keqi Zhang is a final-year MSci Physics student at Imperial College London with a passion for software engineering and research. Currently working as a Software Engineer Intern at green 13 solutions limited, Keqi collaborates with a senior programmer to develop functions for the Iris actuarial modelling software used by clients for financial model building. Her main responsibility is to build C++ components that read a JSON file and create an equivalent XLSX spreadsheet as part of the test-driven development cycle. Keqi also creates and runs test cases in JavaScript using Node.js and attends weekly meetings to discuss design, deployment, and commercial requirements of the code. Before this, Keqi gained valuable experience as the President of the Imperial Art Club at Imperial College Union, where she led a team of 13 students and increased memberships by 21% by implementing new ways of advertising. She held responsibilities for organising events, negotiating and allocating annual funding, and collaborating with other societies to create an inclusive environment for members. Keqi also worked as a Research Intern at Imperial College London, where she conducted a hybrid project to investigate patch antennas with the Complex Nanophotonics Research Group. She modelled different structures using Lumerical software and conducted experiments to verify her models, supervised by Dr Riccardo Sapienza. Keqi's education history includes a MSci degree in Physics from Imperial College London, where she is currently studying and a background in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics from Badminton School. Her tech stack includes Software Engineering, test, Javascript, NodeJS, and Research Scientist. With 2.78 years of relevant experience, Keqi is a driven and ambitious individual with a strong foundation in physics and a passion for software engineering and research.
