Kevin Buffington is an experienced software developer with over 24 years of experience specializing in user interface design and development for desktop, web, mobile, and 10-foot UIs. He has a strong background in product and project management in an ISO 9000 environment. Kevin is skilled in creating automated test procedures to handle Unit, Functional, Regression, and Performance testing. He is proficient in various web technologies including JavaScript, Angular, jQuery, PHP, REST, HTML5, and CSS3. As a Staff Engineer at VMware, Kevin serves as the lead UI developer on an internal suite of tools to manage and upgrade SDDCs in the VMware Managed Cloud SaaS environment. He was previously a Senior UI Engineer in the same group and was the technical lead building a full-featured, single pane of glass style UI for VMware internal users to help manage SDDC upgrades, maintenance, remediation, and configuration management. Kevin is helping to create something powerful, easy-to-use, that is both pretty and accessible. Before joining VMware, Kevin was the Manager of Technology Operations at q1media, where he served as the primary interface between key internal/external stakeholders and the Tech team with the goal of streamlining the development process and creating better products that release on time. He worked to define and develop the company's products to align with financial and strategic goals and helped develop the product roadmap and prioritize projects and features. Kevin provided domain expertise and decision-making ability to technical and implementation questions and was the lead developer for certain business-critical technologies doing development in the MEAN stack. He also provided direct UI/UX design for the Tech team. Kevin earned his education from Trinity Christian Academy and has a strong technical background in UI, test, Javascript, SQL, Web, AngularJS, Frontend, Software Engineer, Typescript, PHP, MongoDB, Mobile, Senior Software Engineer, C, and designer. He is passionate about making stuff look pretty and follows software design best practices.
