Kevin Crosby is a highly experienced corporate innovation leader and startup strategist who has led the execution of numerous successful programs. With over 12 years of relevant experience, he has a deep understanding of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, human-computer interaction, e-commerce, mobile, social, and SaaS platforms. Kevin has a strong background in identifying and implementing new products, defining business opportunities across emergent or existing industries, and creating a culture of innovation and customer obsession. He has participated in over 100 investments across net new or follow-ons, with a focus from Preseed to pre-IPO. His business model focuses on platforms, marketplaces, and network businesses, with a sector focus in deep tech, consumer and consumer enablement, hardware, b2b/enterprise. As the Director of Venture Capital Firms, Accelerators, and Developer Ecosystem at Carta, Kevin leads the company's VC and Accelerator practice. Prior to this, he led the Alexa Fund portfolio development and early-stage programs for Amazon's Alexa Fund, where he co-founded the Alexa Startups team to cultivate and advance voice, AI, and ambient compute startups. Kevin also co-founded an Amazon team leading product and technical program management for a chat/messaging service. Kevin has also worked for pre-seed/seed stage companies in product/business development and strategy/finance roles at Masco. He is an active investor across VC (LP and direct), real estate, and public equities. Kevin holds an MBA in Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship from the University of Michigan and a BA in Economics from the same institution. He is also a graduate of Grand Haven High School. Kevin's expertise lies in leadership across technical product/program management and software engineering teams, corporate strategy and planning, marketing/brand strategy, finance/bizdev/biz operations, supply chain, and manufacturing. He is an accomplished consultant, advisor, and investor, having worked with companies such as Guru, Styleseat, Lentesplus, Yumi, Letter, Blokable, Mentorcam, Crimpd, Drop Party, Salut, Hitch, U1Bio, Nutr, and Nucleus.
