Kevin George is an accomplished MS CS student at Rochester Institute of Technology with a strong background in computer vision, natural language processing, and databases. He is passionate about using his skills to provide data-driven solutions to organizations and is interested in researching and experimenting with the best approaches to given problems. With 3.61 years of relevant industry and academic experience, Kevin has worked as a Software Engineer at Sony, where he has been involved in building scalable systems for data-driven problems. He has also worked as a Software Developer at Graphene Services Pte Ltd, where he trained machine learning models over Azure cloud GPUs to detect and recognize text in social media images with a test accuracy of 79% using PyTorch. He has also implemented an internal monitoring tool to measure scraping costs on the distributed scraping platform and display them with a simple webpage table. Kevin's past experience includes a Summer Internship at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where he contributed to Scilab Computer Vision Toolbox, an Open Source alternative to Matlab or other mathematical/engineering software. He designed and built functions with the help of OpenCV library in C++ and worked on object tracking using Kalman filter, dense optical flow based on Gunner Farneback’s algorithm. Kevin's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka and a High School education in PCM from Global Indian International School. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology, which he expects to complete in December 2023. Kevin's technical skills include Software Engineering, Computer Vision, Language Models, NLP, ML, BERT, test, Pytorch, Azure, and OpenCV. He is comfortable with structuring and communicating his work and is interested in building scalable systems for data-driven problems.
