Kevin James is an ambitious and passionate technologist with over 8 years of relevant experience in software engineering, cloud computing, and DevOps. He is currently working as a Senior Cloud Software Engineer Lead at Cloudreach, where he is responsible for driving the development of production applications and tools for Cloudreach customers, with a focus on application modernization. Kevin is also the regional lead for a team of software engineers, where he supplies technical details for proposed solutions in pre-sales efforts, conducts technical interviews, mentorship, and weekly one-to-one meetings with team members. Prior to his current role, Kevin worked as a Cloud Software Engineer at Cloudreach and a DevOps Engineer at Second Nature. In both roles, he demonstrated his expertise in identifying and paying down technical debt, creating and implementing DevOps roadmaps, and contributing to the codebase for new features and bug fixes. Kevin has a strong educational background in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, having received his degree from Western Carolina University. He also attended the American School of Paris, where he developed a strong foundation in technology. Kevin's technical skills include expertise in AWS, Python, Javascript, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Jenkins, Azure, GCP, infra, Senior Software Engineer, NodeJS, VueJS, and Java. He is a pragmatic thinker who believes in the Zen of Python, which states that there should be one -- and preferably only one -- obvious way to do things.
