Kevin Kelley is a highly experienced Distributed Systems Engineer with over 13 years of relevant experience. Currently, he holds the position of Staff Software Engineer at Google, where he is working on Spanner, Google's globally-distributed relational database. Kevin is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the distributed systems that power Spanner, a complex and high-performance database. Prior to joining Google, Kevin co-founded and served as CEO of Cachecash, a decentralized Content Delivery Network (CDN) that he built and led a globally-distributed team. Under his leadership, Cachecash became a high-performance CDN that provided efficient and fast content delivery to users worldwide. Before that, Kevin worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Kernel, where he was responsible for computational architecture and tooling as part of a project to build an FDA-approved Class III deep brain stimulation (DBS) and neural interface device. Kevin's educational background includes a degree from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, where he graduated in 2005. His technical skills include expertise in Software Engineering, Senior Software Engineering, and Decentralized systems. With his extensive experience in distributed systems, Kevin is a valuable asset to any organization.
