Kiran Ravindra is an experienced Software Engineer with a focus on solving infrastructure observability issues at a massive scale. Kiran also provides critical integrated operational insights to internal teams at Walmart, driving down operational costs by providing insights on effective cost optimization, minimizing vendor dependency, and vendor tool retirement for Walmart. Kiran's expertise lies in building microservice-based real-time streaming telemetry, batch computation (Spark), storage, visualization, and overall product design and visualizations. He has experience working with technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Akka, Elastic Search, ScyllaDB, Postgres, Hadoop, Kubernetes, Azure, Play Scala Framework, Express-NodeJs Framework, and React. Before joining Walmart, Kiran worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where he led weekly lab discussions and office hours, graded assignments, and occasionally taught. He also worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Walmart.
