Kishore Ganesh
Engineer at Rivos | MS CS student at USC | Maker at heart
About
Kishore Ganesh is a passionate Computing Systems enthusiast with a keen interest in exploring various subdomains of Computer Science, including Computer Graphics, Computer Architecture, and Compilers. As an Intern at Rivos and pursuing his Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, Kishore is driven to build projects in domains he knows nothing about, where he thrives on ramping up on unknown topics and solving complex problems. Kishore's ultimate goal is to work on fields closer to the metal, such as Operating Systems kernels or device drivers, though he is also open to working on complex high-level systems. He has contributed towards efforts to enable heterogeneous system simulation within QEMU, where he ported a QEMU patch to enable QEMU to be a vhost backend and created a MemoryBackend within QEMU that uses the vhost feature to share RAM with another QEMU instance. He has also worked on adding invalidations to RISCV-IOMMU QEMU device and Linux driver and testing it, where he wrote a test PCI device having a device-side cache within QEMU with an accompanying Linux driver to test IOMMU invalidations. Kishore's past experiences include working as a Software Engineer Intern at Dell, where he collaborated with another team to create a dashboard that offers a tabular representation of the various systems to aid in debugging and worked with other interns to add features to an ASP.NET / Angular-based codebase that had a microservices-oriented architecture. He was also a MLH Fellow at Major League Hacking, where he contributed to BentoML, a tool that makes machine learning deployments easier, participated in hackathons, a CTF, and gave expository technical presentations. Kishore is a maker at heart and enjoys writing about his thoughts on Computer Science and projects on his blog. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Manipal University and is set to graduate with his Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Southern California in 2023. Kishore's technical skills include Software Engineering, Backend Development, Docker, Machine Learning, ASP.NET, Microservices, and AngularJS. With 12.78 years of relevant experience, Kishore is a driven and talented individual who is passionate about exploring new domains and building innovative solutions.
