Komal Kalyanraman is a highly skilled software developer and architect with over 8 years of experience in the field of AI, Automotive, and Robotics. She is a certified SW Architect from ISAQB and a Bosch Certified SW Designer. With four patents filed, she has a proven track record of innovation and excellence in her work. Currently, Komal is the Innovation Team Lead at Bosch, where she leads a 4-member team in building a voice-based human-like multi-turn conversation system from scratch. She has deployed the entire system in an automotive OEM's infotainment system during the pilot phase. Komal has made conversations interesting to passengers by fusing various car sensor data into conversations and tracking passenger's mood via multi-modal sensor fusion. She has created a complete pipeline, including frontend, backend, and cloud integration in the car infotainment system, using Rasa opensource framework, knowledge graphs, and models like GPT to improve conversation quality. She has also evaluated several opensource Speech-to-text and Text-to-speech models for performance and used Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud infrastructure for smooth deployment and scalability. Komal has co-architected the system so that it can be easily integrated with cloud, edge, and hybrid devices and created microservices architecture using REST and SignalR for smooth functioning of various modules. She has also mentored interns for developing human-like functionalities in the field of robotics and computer vision. Komal has architected the deployment of the conversation system in humanoid robots to showcase the portability of conversation modules. Prior to her current role, Komal worked as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Bosch, where she was involved in implementing Volvo's patented Pilot functionality into Bosch steering architecture. This functionality had Lane Keeping, Traffic Jam assist, and Lane Departure warning included in it. She was directly dealing with customers from Volvo and Zenuity located in Germany and Sweden. Komal has also worked as a Project Engineer at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, in "Intelligent Systems and Control Lab" under Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, Dept of Electrical Engineering. Komal holds a Master's degree in Mechatronics from Anna University and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Sir C.R.R. College of Engineering.
