Pesticide use remains a global challenge, with over 4.2 million tonnes applied annually, of which 35% are classified as Highly Hazardous Pesticides (HHPs). These pose significant health risks, leading to over 385 million cases of pesticide poisoning each year, and are contributing to severe environmental damage, including a 75% decline in insect populations and widespread water contamination. Farmers are now actively seeking sustainable options and biocontrols have emerged as a reliable alternative to chemical pesticides with a market size of 7.9 Bn USD growing at a CAGR of >15%. At ABIM, our team, along with 1800 delegates from 58 countries focused on building strategic partnerships to accelerate the development, testing, and scaling of novel biocontrol solutions - globally. On this day, December 10th, 1967, the beginning of a legacy that has significantly shaped India’s agricultural landscape was marked. Coromandel International’s (CFL) 1st plant at Vizag was inaugurated by Shri Morarji Desai, the then Deputy Prime Minister of India. The ceremony was also attended by Shri Kasu Brahmananda Reddy, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. What made the event even more special was that Shri Grandhi Ramamoorthy Setty, a local farmer, had the honour of cutting the ribbon. (a) Lead for financial planning, setting up processes & controls of business. Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an effective planning and analysis capability that will provide senior leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals and measure performance of BU’s products and services.
(b) Worked closely with the leadership team to formulate the business's medium to long term financial and strategic plans, driving targets with the functional teams. Use the output of financial models and analysis of trends to drive decision making and communicate relevant messages across the business.
(c) Preparing, presenting & reviewing weekly, monthly and quarterly plans to the management & functional team leaders to monitor monthly and quarterly performance.
(d) Gauging BU's overall financial health, primarily by using key financial ratios & determining which of the products or product lines generate the largest portion of net profit & suggestions for profitable sales mix.
(e) Examining and evaluating the cost-efficiency of each department of BU, in light of what percentage of BU's financial resources each department consumes.
(f) Considering opportunities for the BU to expand or grow. Mapping out growth plans, including capital expenditures and investments. Generating three- to five-year financial forecasts.
(g) Evaluating new and existing projects, investments, and assets to determine their validity and appraise their value.
(h) Building annual budgets and forecasts for different geographies and consolidating into one master budget.
(i) Established robust control processes & internal control mechanisms for Retail Store operations & leading finance team of 65+ (direct reports) by identifying leakages in the system and formulated processes to plug them to ensure that these cases are not repeated in future.
