Kumar Gaurav is an ESG Specialist with almost 3 years of experience in the climate change and sustainability industry. He is currently working as an ESG Methodology Specialist, Regulatory Solutions at ISS ESG, where he is responsible for developing ESG products based on regulatory frameworks and delivering data and tools to quantify environmental, social and governance risks to assets, projects, companies and investment portfolios. Kumar has also led the development of an innovative EU Taxonomy Alignment Solution that enables institutional investors to align their investment portfolio with the European Union's (EU) Taxonomy. Prior to joining ISS ESG, Kumar worked as a researcher at the Indian Council of Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), a New Delhi-based think tank, in the Climate Change and Sustainable Development team. His role involved providing support to the Government of India on G20, G7, and BRICS negotiations. Kumar holds a Masters and Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Kumar's expertise and understanding in global ESG regulation, such as the EU Taxonomy and Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), have contributed to the ongoing development and enhancement of ISS ESG's Regulatory Solutions. He collaborates with internal stakeholders to identify existing expertise and resources within ISS ESG research and leverages these for Regulatory Solutions. Kumar also provides service/support to relevant teams in answering client inquiries and explaining the methodology behind their solutions in calls, emails, and meetings. He has supported Regulatory Solutions with team expansion into the APAC region. Kumar's past work experience includes working as a Faculty at Yukti Educational Services Private Limited. He has also completed his Junior College from St. Joseph's MSV Nagar and High School from Kendriya Vidyalaya Muzaffarpur. Kumar's relevant experience in the industry is 5.44 years, and his tech stack includes Research Scientist.
