Kumar Raghavendra is a skilled Member of Technical Staff-3 at VMware, currently working in the Storage Business Unit. With almost 9 years of experience, he is responsible for designing, coding, and unit-testing end-to-end product releases for new features or existing feature enhancements and bug fixes. Kumar's primary skills include Java, C++, C, Ruby, Python, Unix commands, shell scripting, data structures, algorithms, and database (SQL). He has in-depth knowledge of Storage Area Networks (NVMe, FC, SCSI, iSCSI, NFS, SAS, SATA, SDD, HDD), multi-threading, and the basics of kernel and system programming, as well as an in-depth understanding of operating systems. Kumar has a deep understanding of the functionality and architecture of hardware and firmware at each component level in the storage domain, including processors, cabling, code load, setup, and configuration from VM to host to physical disk. He also has extensive knowledge of VMware vSphere architecture, hypervisor, ESX, and their subcomponents related to storage domains, from kernel level to user space. Prior to joining VMware, Kumar worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, where he was responsible for algorithm design, coding, testing, triaging, automation test-case design, and development for new feature or existing feature enhancements and bug fixes. He has also worked as a Software Developer at Cisco, where he was part of the UCCE project, building software used to deploy in contact centers for all kinds of inbound and outbound call flows, SIP, and H.323 call flows. Kumar holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from JSS Academy of Technical Education, Bangalore, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University. He is currently pursuing a Post Graduate Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from the University of Texas, which he is expected to complete in December 2022.
