Kunal Chawla is a highly skilled Software Engineer with over 14 years of experience in the industry. Currently working at Google, he holds the position of Software Engineer and is responsible for developing and maintaining software systems that cater to the needs of the organization. Prior to his current role, Kunal worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Quantcast, where he led the Real-time Bidding (RTB) Control Platform team. He was responsible for the control system that ensured distributed ad buying systems hit delivery goals with an optimal delivery schedule. Kunal was the lead engineer for implementing an experimentation system that enabled data scientists to easily and rapidly iterate on the control algorithm. He also re-architected the heart of the control system to make it more scalable and fault-tolerant, improving the performance for Budgeter by 40%. Kunal successfully completed technical project management and aspiring manager’s training during his tenure at Quantcast. Kunal has also worked at Bloomreach as a Member of Technical Staff. Here, he played an integral part in implementing an analytics platform that generated various metrics for each merchant by processing pixel logs and combining other data using Hadoop. The generated metrics enabled billing for the finance team and other products at BloomReach. He was responsible for the design and implementation of BloomReach Pixel Validator chrome extension, which assisted integration of pixel. Kunal also developed and maintained an analytics dashboard that provided Account Managers with the information necessary to facilitate product impact discussions with the customers. He enabled SSO across multiple dashboards using Apache Crowd to reduce friction and increase dashboard use for multi-product customers. Kunal completed his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and Information Technology from Sardar Patel College of Engineering (SPCE) in 2008. He has experience in various tech stacks, including Software Engineering, Hadoop, and Integration.
