Kunal Jha is a highly skilled Data Engineering Manager with a passion for Big Data, Natural Language Processing, Semantic Web, Machine Learning, and Algorithms. He is currently working at a food startup in stealth mode as a Senior Data Engineer, where he is responsible for developing and operating features around Nakadi and related products. Before joining the food startup, Kunal worked at Zalando as a Research Developer, where he extensively worked with Spark and published papers in major conferences. He has also worked at smava gmbh as a Staff and Senior Data Engineer, where he was responsible for designing and developing the central event bus and data lake while owning every aspect of Smava Data Platform. Kunal also worked on GDPR and Governance practices on the new platform and facilitated agile ceremonies, backlog maintenance, and hiring management responsibilities. Kunal completed his Masters in Computer Science from the University of Bonn in September 2018 and holds a Bachelor of Technology in Information and Communication Technology from dhiru bhai ambani institute. He has a diverse tech stack, including Data Engineering, Senior Software Engineer, Research Scientist, NLP, Spark, Big Data, ML, Web, product manager, and infra.
