Kunal Runwal is a Robotics Developer at Fluid Robotics with over 2 years of relevant experience in the field. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology. Kunal's expertise lies in the development of robotics technology and machine vision for robotics applications. He has previously worked as a Research Assistant at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin where he was involved in the automatic classification of defects/faults in components using non-destructive testing methods. During this time, Kunal built a novel 2-axis system for carrying out experiments and further analysis, and developed applications for in-depth analysis of the results obtained from the experimental NDT setup. Kunal has also worked as a Summer Intern at PARI where he focused on machine vision for robotics applications. During this time, he designed vision concepts by selecting camera and optics, illumination, filters, position of camera and lights with respect to parts, and conceptualized protection against noise factors. He also selected vision tools such as feature detection/noise reduction/image enhancement and validated tests while operating FANUC and KUKA robots. Kunal's technical skills include test and research scientist, and he is proficient in a range of software and programming languages. He has a strong educational background, having completed his secondary education from Fergusson College and primary education from Vidya Valley School.
