Kunal U is a seasoned data and AI professional with over 13 years of relevant experience in the field. He is currently working as a Seed Investor at powernatics (pnatics pvt. ltd.), where he is leveraging his expertise to identify promising startup ventures in the data and AI space. Prior to this, Kunal worked as an Associate Vice President at Paytm, where he was responsible for the Central Data Platform. In this role, he led a team that collected data from multiple business units and turned it into insights and actions for executive management and merchants. He was also responsible for driving cloud modernization of Paytm Payment Data and Risk ecosystem, building fraud and risk models for real-time transactions, and seamlessly migrating petabytes of data to the cloud. Before joining Paytm, Kunal worked as a Vice President at BNY Mellon, where he focused on data and analytics. He led the development of a cloud-based data and analytics platform that supported the rapid onboarding of data to provide greater flexibility and accelerate client innovation and discovery. Kunal holds a Master of Science in Computer Software Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics Honours from Delhi University. He has also earned an American Express & Harvard Certificate in Leadership Excellence from Harvard Business School. Kunal's technical skills include AI, AWS, Big Data, and infrastructure.
