Kush Fanikiso is an experienced technologist, investor, and co-founder based in Oakland, CA. With over 8 years of relevant experience, Kush has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College with a double major in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, and a minor in Africana/Black studies with a focus on African literature. Kush is proficient in various programming languages including Ruby/Ruby on Rails, Java, Hack, Scala, Python, Javascript/CoffeeScript, HTML5, CSS3, MySQL, GraphQL, Bash, Haskell, and Go. He is fascinated by the paradigms of different programming languages and enjoys working on problems of scale. Kush is currently a Software Engineer at meta and has previously worked at braintree and PayPal in the same role. He is particularly interested in Distributed Computing, Theory of Computation, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Programming Languages and Operating Systems, Big Data Analytics, and Cloud Computing. Kush is also a huge fan of Test-Driven Development (TDD), pair programming, and Agile methodologies. Apart from his work, Kush is passionate about crypto and is concerned about its social and ecological implications. He believes that the current crypto space is being built by middle-class to wealthy white men, and it's not being built with inclusivity in mind. Kush also enjoys camping, video games, hiking, wildlife photography, motorcycles (street bikes, dirt bikes, ATVs), reading, and occasionally writing/blogging. Overall, Kush is a well-rounded technologist with a diverse set of skills and interests. He is always on the lookout for exciting new challenges and opportunities to improve his craft.
