Kyle Brackebusch is a dynamic and energetic software engineer with a background in sales and customer service. He is passionate about bridging the gap between people and technology through creative problem-solving and effective communication. Kyle values clean, fast, and scalable code and is comfortable working across the full stack, using numerous client-side and server-side frameworks. His experience in software development is built on a foundation in object-oriented design principles, and he is proficient in multiple programming languages. Currently working as a Software Engineer at Avalara, Kyle is responsible for working on features and tools related to handling tax returns and compliance for businesses across the globe. He is working on multiple full-stack applications using Node, Postgres, React, and AWS for infrastructure. Kyle has set up a new serverless application to handle client communication via email through various providers (AWS SES, SendGrid, and internal systems). He also manages and grows their importing service, handling the funneling of sales information from numerous online platforms. Kyle has implemented several CI/CD pipelines across multiple applications for running tests and deploying code to meet security and compliance regulations and improve the daily developer experience. He is a driver of positive change wherever possible and continually works to improve their various code repositories, including introducing new tools like Typescript, standardizing coding patterns, linting and formatting, and general evaluation of 3rd party modules of their merit, security, and quality. Kyle has previously worked as a Software Engineer at Zipwhip and The League - Meet Intelligently. At Zipwhip, he was part of the SaaS team working on the web application, building new features, and converting legacy architecture and design into a scalable, organized, and tastefully Zipwhip branded application. At The League - Meet Intelligently, Kyle built and maintained a CRM used to bridge the gap between customer support and users. He also designed and implemented features to provide greater insights into user behavior. Kyle completed his Full-Stack Developer degree from App Academy in 2018 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion/Religious Studies from Vanguard University of Southern California.
