Kyle Sammons is a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer at Tango Card with over 6 years of relevant experience. He is a passionate computer scientist with a love for programming and all things tech-related. In his current role, Kyle has formed and led the Developer Tools Team, which created libraries, APIs, and tools for engineers, resulting in saving approximately 150 to 200 hours per engineer per year, totaling more than $500k per year. He has also mentored and trained mid-level and junior engineers in architecture, best practices, testing, and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). As a Scrum Master, Kyle has helped to organize the backlog and apply proper Scrum techniques/organization (planning, retros, ticket pointing, etc). Kyle has previously worked as an SDE II at Tango Card, where he contributed to the development of the primary Java and Spring-based API that backs all of Tango Card services. He has also optimized various portions of the code, improving overall TPS by approximately 10%. Kyle co-led the team that developed internal tooling for Tango Card's internal business teams using Java, Spring, Vue, and JavaScript. Before joining Tango Card, Kyle worked as a Software Engineer at First Foundry, where he worked on and developed a RESTful API in Python using Falcon and SQLAlchemy. He also wrote new server modules in Erlang/Elixir and ported the majority of an extremely complex C# SDK to Javascript/Typescript. Kyle designed and wrote the backend architecture and logic for a React Native app. Kyle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Sciences, General from the University of Oregon, where he graduated in 2016. He also holds an Associate of Arts degree from South Puget Sound Community College, where he graduated in 2013.
