Laba Kumar Deka is a highly skilled Software Development Engineer with over 3 years of experience in the field. Currently, he is working as an SDE 2 at BookMyShow, where he is contributing to the Personalization and Search team. Laba has played a significant role in the AWS migration project, where he contributed to the entire tech stack of Personalizations team, including API migration and running spark jobs on Amazon EMR. He also developed ETL pipelines to consume data from Kafka, SQL, and store them in Elasticsearch, Amazon S3, and further deploy them in Amazon EMR. In the Personalization team, Laba designed and contributed to creating easily scalable end-to-end recommendation gRPC APIs that consume data from Elasticsearch, Aerospike, and give personalized recommendations to the user based on various ML models given by the Data Science team. He also worked on data workflows to transfer data from Kafka to SQL seamlessly using Apache Nifi. Additionally, he created optimal logging solutions for better understanding of the logs and errors in applications, and worked with Elastic APM and Coralogix for setting up slack/email alerts and monitors on all their APIs and Services. Laba's tech stack includes Scala, Spark, Elasticsearch, SQL, gRPC, Nifi, and Amazon EMR. He has also worked with Python, BeautifulSoup, and openpyxl during his internship at biosectrx. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology Silchar.
