Lakhan Arya is an accomplished Software Engineer with over 10 years of experience in the internet industry. Currently, he serves as a Senior Software Engineer at Uber, where he leverages his expertise in Network Programming, Algorithms, Shell Scripting, Data Structures, and Distributed Systems to drive innovation and efficiency in the company's engineering operations. Prior to joining Uber, Lakhan worked as a Software Engineer and Software Development Engineer - II at Amazon, where he played a pivotal role in several critical projects. In Amazon Transportation Services, he led the architectural migration efforts of Ship With Amazon systems to Unified Transportation Demand Injection (UTDI) system. He was responsible for planning a backward compatible migration from existing state to UTDI systems, developing the regression test suites and shadow testing strategies, and devising the fallback/rollback plan in case of failures. At Amazon Home Services Team, Lakhan designed a Real-Time Scheduling system for scheduling service appointments by customers for Amazon Home Services orders. His work included defining technician resources availability in Temporal Inventory Management Engine, aggregation of similar resources availability into group’s availability, and allowing customers to reserve, cancel and reschedule RTS inventory.
