Lakshay Mudgal is a seasoned Senior Technical Lead with over 9 years of experience in leading R&D projects for various international telecom operators. He is currently working as a Technical Lead in 5G R&D, focusing on the design and development of Core Network with experience of multiple NFs in both microservice architecture using Kubernetes and NFV architecture required for 5G as per 3GPP2 specs. Lakshay is highly skilled in programming using C, C++, with experience in working with both RDBMS and in-mem DB products, Shell Scripting, and Software architecture design. Lakshay has a strong track record of designing and leading the research & development of highly efficient, cost-effective solutions in the Telecom domain. He has worked in GSM and VOIP VAS product suites using multiple protocols like SS7, SIGTRAN, INAP, SIP, ISUP, BICC, SMPP, and VXML v2.1. He has also led R&D of Complete 5G Core for the last 4 years in a startup environment, and has experience of products like USSD GW, EOCN solution, BOD, SMSC solutions such as virtual SMSC, A2P, P2P, TAPPING solution over GSM, DND for SMS solution, IVR, and OBD solutions for Major Indian and International Telecom operators. Lakshay has worked on open source codes and developed products that are evidently low-cost solutions. He has a strong competency in end-to-end architecture design and leading research and development of highly available and scalable ecosystems for products and modules. He also has experience of optimization and performance improvements in large-scale systems in tight timelines. Currently, Lakshay is working at exium as a Senior Technical Lead in 5G R&D - Control Plane. He is working on R&D of multiple NFs such as AMF, SMF, AUSF, UDM, PCF, etc. in 5G control plane. Prior to this, he has worked with Mavenir as a Member Of Technical Staff - III R&D, where he was responsible for the design and leading development of session management function (SMF) around NFV and Kubernetes based micro-services platform. Lakshay holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Computer Engineering from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT University) and a senior secondary degree in Science from Rpvv Shalimar
