Lakshay Sharma is a highly skilled machine learning software engineer with a strong interest in computer vision, natural language processing, and other areas of machine learning. He is an open-source contributor to MXNet/GluonCV and has been recognized for his technical abilities with a Best Technical Hack award at the Microsoft Global Hackathon 2021 in the HackForTheWeb category. Currently, Lakshay works as a Machine Learning Software Engineer at Microsoft, where he focuses on computer vision and deep learning for Microsoft Maps and Geospatial. His work directly contributes to various products, including Bing Maps, Azure Maps, Flight Simulator, and HoloLens. Prior to joining Microsoft, Lakshay worked as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, where he built machine learning models and software to predict and classify video content for compliance and risk mitigation. He also worked with the Operations Finance Technology team to build software for automated reporting, processing, and analysis of financial data. Lakshay was a poster presenter at the Artificial Conversational Agents Workshop at the Amazon Machine Learning Conference 2018 and was a first-place winner at the AWS DeepLens Hackathon. Lakshay holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from New York University and a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering. He also completed his high school education at the Indian School Muscat.
